So I, made lame by fortune's dearest spite,
Take all my comfort of thy worth and truth;
For whether beauty, birth, or wealth, or wit,
Or any of these all, or all, or more,
Entitled in thy parts do crowned sit,
I make my love engrafted to this store:
So then I am not lame, poor, nor despis'd,
Whilst that this shadow
doth such substance give
That I in thy abundance am suffic'd
And by a part of all thy glory live.
Look what is best,
that best I wish in thee:
This wish I have;
then ten times happy me!

Have you met ...

The children have been bit subdued from their usual selves. Homesick or mommasick is a better term for the ones that aren't with their immediate families. Tuchuk are strong and even the youngest of them go on day to day regardless of what comes. I'm not sure I could have handled so many if they were at full smoke. I had heard that you know how well you have raised your children when they visit someone elses' home. They had their chance and I can say all in all I am proud of them.

The move is kind of like a mixer as some of the lines made better time than others. A variety of faces you haven't seen or haven't seen in a while come and go throughout the day and evening.

Batzorig caught sight of Shanay and I grabbed her arm putting her behind me with one of those ohh no you don't even think about it looks. He was still trying to see the girl or what he could of her when he almost rode his kaiila over the top of two older freewomen. Last I saw of him or the women, they were still whopping his shins and leg and the beast was sidestepping not to get the brunt of it. That girl never gave him a second glance. Wheeew. Seriously though there aren't any books or scrolls on Tuchuk within the harigga but if you want to see the depths of a people .. watch their young. There was every virtue known to man written there as well as more than a few vices.

Gabriel met Nine and they seemed to get along well. The youngest brother of two families, both with a penchant for the kaiila. Cana's brother and I began showing the other one how to feed and care for the animals and he made sure to stop by each day to learn more. I'd promised to check on the warrior's family although the first approach was filled with nervousness. That washed away with the welcoming smile and the acceptance of extra hands to help. Wily was about to swat a hand against a bottom when she so calmly turned and filled it with a ladle with a bent handle. She'd heard about how well he was doing at the forge, could he fix that? I have no doubt my admiration for her skills shone on every bit of my features.

It wasn't merely Tribe faces that filtered to the evening fires, there was a stranger at them one night as well. My reaction surprised me. Dweller healer, here? I was leary and instantly defensive until I heard he was a friend of Kam and Tarra's. There was even a smile seeing my friend smile. She argues that no one but Tuchuk will touch her when it comes time for the babe to arrive, but without Silk and Falon ... I could only pipe in that I've delivered baby kaiila .. everything will be fine.

Some of the time was spent just enjoying time with the children. Amid the this one said, and that one did, snail ooze in Mia's hair, Forth Son getting punched for tugging Talia's hair, sleen helped us make stuffed jits from old stuff in forgotten trunks. We made one for every one, even a pink one. The boys actually helped too, once they got the bright idea that theirs could be used for bola practice. Aim improved with each round until the stuffings began to spill out. There was a shrub and a bramble bush that accidently got hurt. My apologies to the Gorean Wild Weed Preservation Society.

I suppose the most striking moment was when Ramza came by the wagon. He was a curiosity for the boys and Me Too decided that enough had invaded his territory. Wily, Tug and First through Ninth Sons of various families was as much as he was going to allow. Skirting his mount close to where we walked, he raised a short lance in the air and yelled to the top of his lungs his lineage. You had to be there. I told him the man was a good friend and I expected him to be treated as such and put that down before he hurt someone he didn't mean to. He jutted his jaw defiantly and made it look like he lowered the lance on his terms .. not mine. Ramza took it all in stride and simply greeted him with his own lineage. Over all it was a stalemate I think but the warrior did lean over chuckling to tell me that he thought I had an admirer. Well maybe so .. until bath time anyway. You could not take the grin off my face or the song that went with me everywhere I went after that. I was so proud of my boy.
